Emily Rudd’s Unexpected Dream Comes True Thanks to One Piece and Netflix

Who would’ve thought we’d get to witness Emily Rudd playing the role of our ever-favorite navigator Nami in One Piece? It was almost like she was perfect for the position; her portrayal of Nami’s character mesmerized fans for all the good reasons. In fact, Nami had always been one of her favorite characters, so she was so happy to get this role.

However, she didn’t just stop there. One might assume her affection toward One Piece or Nami in particular was so big that she even got the opportunity to play as Nami’s voice actor in the official LEGO One Piece release trailer. She even mentioned it being one of her childhood dreams, which she finally got to fulfill.

Another objective from Emily Rudd’s bucket list got checked off

The official LEGO manufacturer recently announced they’d be releasing a One Piece LEGO set soon for all the weebs out there. Now, this is something big, considering the number of LEGO fans who are also really into One Piece. And Emily Rudd also happens to be one of those enthusiastic fans.

But even she might have had no idea that they’d hire her for Nami’s voice actor in its promotional trailer. This may sound obvious to fans, as we’ve seen her exemplary performance in the One Piece live-action, but for her, it could’ve been a real shock. Which is why she appeared to be genuinely excited upon sharing this news on her Instagram stories.

Like a lot of us, she must’ve also imagined herself being a LEGO as a kid, so this was like a dream-come-true moment for her.

This is a major milestone even for Netflix and One Piece as a whole. More crossovers like this would be equally appreciated, and this just opened up a road for all that to happen. The trailer itself looked fantastic as well, with so many Easter eggs from the actual anime that fans could find out.

One Piece sails further in its glory!

After all the failed Netflix live-action adaptations, One Piece, for the first time, showed the world that there’s still a future for such live-action anime adaptations. It far and beyond surpassed fans’ expectations and placed itself among the top list of all the Netflix series to ever come out.

So now, with this recent announcement of the LEGO One Piece set’s official release, the whole franchise has further broadened its reign over global reach. Now, it’s beyond just entertainment media; it’ll be directly incorporated into how kids will grow up playing with the LEGO set.

As season 2 of One Piece Live-Action is nearing, there’s even more to look forward to now for the fans. Emily Rudd will again be an obvious focus in the upcoming storyline, fulfilling fans’ desire to experience more of her iconic performance. The community couldn’t be more excited than it is now, and things are looking really good for the overall franchise’s future.

The One Piece Live-Action Season 1 is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.
