“I’ve got the botox out”: Robert Pattinson Called For Twilight Revival Despite $3.3B Franchise Almost Ruining Actor’s Hollywood Career

Robert Pattinson, best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, has always had a knack for witty and self-deprecating humor. In 2018, Pattinson made headlines by joking about getting Botox if a Twilight reboot ever became a reality.
The Twilight franchise, based on the popular novels by Stephenie Meyer, took the world by storm in the mid-2000s. It introduced us to a forbidden love story between a brooding vampire, Edward Cullen, portrayed by Pattinson, and a high school girl, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart. The films were a massive success, grossing over $3.3 billion worldwide, and Pattinson became a global superstar.
Robert Pattinson Said He’s “Ready” for Another Twilight Reunion
Despite his reservations about the films, Robert Pattinson has said that he would be open to returning to the role of Edward Cullen if a Twilight reboot were ever made. However, he joked that he would need to get some Botox first.
“I’ve literally talked to my agent about it,” Pattinson said in a 2018 interview with Variety.
“The amount of time I spend moisturizing — I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice. I’ve got the Botox out.”
He added that it feels like “not a day has passed” since he worked on the massive franchise, and joked that he “stopped mentally progressing around the time when I started doing those movies”.
“Whenever anyone says [Twilight’s] their guilty pleasure, it’s like, you say guilty, what you really mean is just pleasure,” he said.
Pattinson last played the teenage vampire in the fourth installment of the franchise, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, which was released in 2012.
Did Twilight Movies “ruined” Robert Pattinson’s Career?
Robert Pattinson, the talented British actor, initially gained worldwide fame for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga. While the franchise enjoyed enormous success and garnered a dedicated fan base, it seemed like Robert Pattinson could not come out of that role for many years and that may have hampered his career.
It was like he found himself typecast as the brooding vampire heartthrob, making it difficult for casting directors to envision him in other roles.
After the Twilight saga ended, Pattinson made a conscious effort to distance himself from it. He chose to star in independent films and to work with acclaimed directors like David Cronenberg and Christopher Nolan.
Pattinson’s strategy has paid off. He has been praised for his work in films like Cosmopolis, Good Time, Batman, and The Lighthouse. He went from being “the guy from ‘Twilight’” to a versatile one.
Director David Cronenberg, who helmed Cosmopolis Said that the Twilight movies have mistakenly led people to think that Rob isn’t a versatile actor because they only see him as Edward Cullen.
Today, Robert Pattinson is no longer confined to the constraints of that single iconic character.
