The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman recently accidentally disclosed sensitive information, causing an internet frenzy. Despite prior news of Steven Yeun joining the 2025 Thunderbolts team, details about his role had been kept under wraps. However, in a recent interview, Kirkman unintentionally revealed Yeun is going to be Robert Reynolds aka Sentry, sparking further curiosity and speculation among fans.

Robert Kirkman Accidentally Confirmed Steven Yeun’s Role in Thunderbolts!

During a recent interview with David Finch, Robert Kirkman finally unveiled Steven Yeun’s on-screen role in the 2025 project Thunderbolts. Yeun’s involvement in the project was confirmed back in February, and now, it has been confirmed that he will portray Robert Reynolds in the much-anticipated upcoming film. In the interview Kirkman said,

 “My good friend Steven Yeun is playing the Sentry in a movie. Yeah he called me, he went in for a costume fitting. I hope I’m not…I don’t think this is a spoiler or anything that will get anybody in trouble. I don’t know, maybe. We’ll see. I don’t care. I don’t work for Marvel. what are they going to do to me?”

Despite Kirkman’s attempt to mitigate the situation with a subtle joke, it appears that no significant harm has been done yet. People remain genuinely thrilled and eager to witness Yeun’s portrayal of the character on the screen. The excitement surrounding Yeun’s performance seems for the time being, unaffected by the hilarious unintentional revelation.

At this point, Steven Yeun is no stranger to the yellow and blue superhero costume. Having previously worn the same shades in Invincible, he is now set to embody a different superhero but again in similar hues. Following his costume fitting for the upcoming movie, Yeun thus reached out to his good friend Robert Kirkman, who also created Invincible, and joked,

“Yeah, he called me and he said, ‘I just came back from a costume fitting for the Sentry. I guess I only do superheroes that are yellow and blue.’ He said he was at the costume fitting and was like, ‘Aww, crap. I forgot Invincible was yellow and blue.'”

It appears that the creator of The Walking Dead revealed more than just Steven Yeun’s role. According to Kirkman’s revelations, costume fittings for the movie have already begun, suggesting that filming will begin shortly. Fans are eagerly anticipating what awaits them in the movie.

Thunderbolts is set to release in theaters on July 25, 2025.
