1 Suspicious Link Between Michael Jackson, Kim Porter and Brittany Murphy’s Death: “It’s super super weird”
In the entertainment industry, no case or event is without its own set of controversies. Over the years some of these controversial theories have gained such traction that there are a set of people who wholeheartedly believe them to be true instead of the evidence pointing the other way. One of these handful few controversies is the alleged suspicious link between Michael Jackson, Kim Porter, and Brittany Murphy.
All three of these celebrities passed away at quite young ages, due to a range of different causes. However, even after their passing their deaths continue to create speculations based on ill-founded coincidences.
The suspicious link between Michael Jackson, Kim Porter, and Brittany Murphy
The King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009, because of acute propofol intoxication. Dr. Conrad Murray, his physical was later found guilty of administering the drug and of involuntary manslaughter (via the New York Times).
Meanwhile, Sean P Diddy Combs’ ex Kim Porter passed away due to lobar pneumonia at the age of 47 on November 15, 2018 (via PEOPLE). On the other hand, the famous actress Brittany Murphy met her death at the age of 32, after experiencing flu-like symptoms that resulted in severe pneumonia (via PEOPLE).
While Porter and Murphy’s deaths were sort of similar since they both passed away due to pneumonia, fans have been creating conspiracy theories about the three stars mentioned above. Apparently the same coroner, Ed Winter investigated the deaths of the three stars, creating speculation that their deaths might be somehow related.

Michael Jackson, Kim Porter, and Brittany Murphy all passed away at different times and due to a range of causes, however, they had the same coroner, Ed Winter (see The List). Winter was responsible for investigating the deaths of some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood who passed away at the age of 73 in 2023 (via TMZ).
As covered by the First Degree crime podcast hosted by Jac Vanek and Alexis Linkletter, while three had the same coroner, what is really weird about this is that Winter apparently died between Porter’s first and second autopsy. While Vanek stated that the above-alleged coincidence is ‘super, super weird,’ there have not been any official reports about Porter’s second autopsy.
This conspiracy and alleged suspicious connection emerged in 2023 when Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Porter’s ex Diddy Combs. Right after the case, fans started asking for Porter’s death investigation to be reopened. So while it was not officially opened (as per the reports at the time of writing this article), Winter passed away shortly around the same time.
This led to rumors that Winter’s death was allegedly related to Diddy and that he had died ‘suspiciously’ after being allegedly asked to re-examine Kim Porter’s death. During his time as the coroner, Ed Winter investigated the deaths of several high-profile celebrities like Whitney Houston, Paul Walker, Corey Haim, and more.
