Kanye West Becomes a Billionaire Again After Losing $1.5 Billion in 1 Day: Is P Diddy the Reason Why Kanye is Not in America?

Kanye West has been avoiding living in the United States for a long time, with rumors swirling around that it might be because of the currently in-jail rapper, Sean P Diddy Combs. While different sources have different claims to make, the rapper apparently has been having a great time traveling around with his wife Bianca Censori.
Moreover, he seems to have regained his billionaire status after a long back and forth with the American global publishing company Forbes. As he enjoys his time living outside the U.S., here is a look at whether he is truly a billionaire or not.
Kanye West claims he is once again a billionaire
Kanye West had a long ongoing feud with Forbes after the website dropped him as a billionaire when Adidas dropped him and his Yeezy line that they had been collaborating on since 2013. While Adidas was not the only brand to do so following his ‘antisemitic’ rants, the deal had a huge impact on the rapper’s net worth, leading to a $1.5 billion loss (via Forbes).
However, the rapper seems to be back in the billionaires club. Recently on January 23, the rapper took to Instagram, posting a business evaluation done by Eton Venture Services that valued his net worth to be over $2.7 billion. Captioning the post with ‘LAA LA LA LA,’ the intro of his song Can’t Tell Me Nothing.
Meanwhile, Forbes continues to list Ye’s net worth at $400 million, with his current fortune includes cash, real estate, the value of his music catalog, and a 5% stake in his ex-wife Kim Kardashian West’s shapewear brand Skims. After his latest claims of being a billionaire, Forbes is yet to respond. Moreover, if the alleged evaluations are true, West’s net worth will be more than Jay-Z’s $2.5 billion (via Forbes).
Why is Kanye West not living in the United States?
It was back in November 2023 that The Sun reported that rapper Kanye West had no plans of returning to his home country of the United States. Having been traveling all over the world with his wife Bianca Censori, the rapper has hardly set foot in the country since then and has only been spotted a handful of times.
Despite his sprawling $35 million mega-mansion in LA, West’s reluctance to return to the country has led to rumors and speculations. According to a source close to the Daily Mail, the rapper is reportedly not returning to the U.S. because of the multiple lawsuits he is facing in the country. Moreover, the source alleges that West is terrified after seeing everything that went down with P Diddy and wants to avoid falling into a similar fate since West and Diddy were once good friends.
After being spotted all over the world from Maldives to Dubai and even Saudi Arabia, Kanye West is reportedly thinking of making Japan his full-time base. According to a source close to In Touch, life in Japan has been easier for him and is even enjoying exposing his kids to different cultures outside of their lives in LA.
