“I definitely made a pass”: Harvey Weinstein Reveals Why Brad Pitt Threatened Him After What He Said to Gwyneth Paltrow

Harvey Weinstein said his side of the story when he appeared on right-wing commentator Candace Owens’ Show recently. In the episode that went live on Tuesday, May 20, the 73-year-old Django producer continued to voice his innocence among the ongoing multiple retrials of criminal s**ual charges.
Though he kept mum about the retrials because of their ongoing nature, Weinstein indeed spoke about how his relationships with friends deteriorated after his conviction and subsequent apprehension.
Nevertheless, the Miramax founder proclaimed that while he had made mistakes in his life, he did not commit those crimes. However, he admitted to having made a move on Gwyneth Paltrow, which landed him with a threatening call from Brad Pitt.
Harvey Weinstein comes clean about making a move on Gwyneth Paltrow
Speaking to Candace Owens in her show, Harvey Weinstein opened up about the multiple tales surrounding him making a “pass” on the Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow. The actress previously shared that Weinstein made a move on her in a hotel room, which made her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt call the producer and threaten him (via The Hollywood Reporter).
When asked about the same, the Shakespeare in Love producer called it a “fabrication.” Nevertheless, he shared that once he did make a move on the Marvel star during a meeting. He said,
At the end of the meeting, we had a glass of Champagne. As I was walking out the door, I said to her, ‘I’d love you to give me a massage’. And she went, ‘Yeah’ [said dismissively], and that was it.
He went on to clarify his stance, saying that it was the extent of their exchange, and that he did not make any physical advance towards the Oscar-winning actress. He explained further,
I didn’t put my hand on her. I didn’t touch her. I definitely made a pass. I guess, you know, you could call it that, but that was the sum total of that situation.
Nevertheless, he admitted that the exchange did earn him a phone call from the Babylon actor, who dialed him to advise against the idea of making a pass on Paltrow. Weinstein claimed that Pitt called him to say, “Don’t do that again.”
At the height of the #MeToo Movement in 2018, Paltrow opened up about the uncomfortable encounter she had with Weinstein in 1996.
How is Gwyneth Paltrow’s version different from Harvey Weinstein’s?
Gwyneth Paltrow first opened up about her encounter with Weinstein during an interview with Howard Stern in 2018. The actress gushed about her then-boyfriend, saying that Pitt protected her from Weinstein’s advances by using his connections.
The former couple dated from 1994, got engaged in 1996, before breaking up in 1997. Recalling the event, Paltrow shared that Weinstein once “tried to make a pass at [her]” in a hotel room. As she was new in the industry, she admitted she was hesitant about speaking out.
Nevertheless, the actress shared the issue with Pitt, who immediately confronted Weinstein. She revealed that the confrontation took place on the opening night of Hamlet on Broadway, where all three of them were present.
While Weinstein said the issue was resolved through a phone call, Paltrow’s version is slightly different. She shared that the manner in which the Troy actor confronted was “like the equivalent of throwing [Weinstien] against the wall.” She continued,
He leveraged his fame and power to protect me at a time when I didn’t have fame or power yet. Harvey was never inappropriate … again.
She recounted that Pitt further threatened the producer and warned him against making any retaliatory move against Paltrow.
The Candace Owens Show can now be streamed on YouTube.
