After watching WWE stars getting cheered by thousands, fans often speculate that each of them has millions in their bank accounts. While this is true for the top-tier WWE stars like John Cena, a significant portion of the WWE roster remains underpaid.
The situation becomes even more dire when it comes to NXT wrestlers. Three days ago, the estranged WWE NXT star, Priscilla Kelly (ring name Gigi Dolin), revealed how Triple H and Co. pay as low as “$30,000” to some wrestlers under their developmental brand. (via Denise Salcedo on YouTube)
And the common misconception about NXT performers is that we’re millionaires, right? Like, a lot of fans, for some reason, think that if you work in WWE and you’re under that umbrella, you’re a millionaire. You live in a mansion. You’re driving a Benz. Like, you’ve got it made. [But] that’s not the case. In NXT, there’s contracts [that pay] as low as $30,000 a year. And they do not go as high as you think.
Kelly’s statement clarifies that she wants the base level of NXT salaries to be more than $30,000. However, a one-and-a-half-month-old incident indicates that she isn’t the only one dissatisfied with the WWE’s payout for NXT stars.
WWE NXT Star Left the Promotion Due To Unsatisfactory Remuneration
Given the WWE’s secrecy about the salaries of its wrestlers, it is nearly impossible to verify the authenticity of Kelly’s “$30,000” salary allegations for the base-level NXT wrestlers. However, the former NXT women’s star, Jazmyn Nyx’s, departure from the promotion in late September 2025 clarified that she shares Kelly’s thoughts about the salaries of NXT wrestlers.
Nyx reportedly made a lot more than “$30,000.” Still, she chose not to resign with the WWE after serving the tenure of her previous contract. Subsequently, Nyx shared an Instagram post to announce that she had left the WWE, primarily due to the unsatisfactory salary offered to her.
I want to just set the record straight that I am not re-signing with WWE. This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future. Personally, the contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially, and that’s okay.
Nyx refrained from revealing the exact salary offered to her by the WWE brass, which she found unsatisfactory. However, a former WWE legend’s comments give us a hint about what the base salary for NXT stars might be.
Booker T Disputed the “$30,000” Salary Allegations Against WWE NXT
The former WWE star and commentator, Booker T, analyzed Nyx’s departure from the promotion during the September 30 episode of the Hall Of Fame podcast. King Booker initially stated that Nyx was paid as per the “base rate” of WWE NXT wrestlers.
Subsequently, Booker’s co-host, Brad Gilmore, predicted that Nyx might have been offered “$75,000” according to his knowledge. Booker T agreed to Nyx’s narrative that it wasn’t enough for her. However, the duo’s discussion somewhat established that the base payout for NXT wrestlers is probably around $75,000 (via Reality of Wrestling).
With a WWE veteran like Booker T somewhere agreeing that NXT stars receive a minimum salary of $75,000, it becomes harder to believe Kelly’s comments about some NXT stars receiving a meager $30,000 salary. However, the WWE’s secrecy regarding their wrestlers’ payouts makes it hard to document anything.
Do you think some WWE NXT stars actually receive a $30,000 salary, as Kelly revealed? Let us know in the comments below.
