The upcoming Berserk manga Chapter 384 is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2026. The problem is that’s the easy part; reading it is the difficult part. Unlike outlets like Viz Media or MangaPlus by Shueisha, Hakusensha does not offer any free online reading platforms for the manga series. The only ways to acquire them are:

  • A digital purchase of individual volumes through Amazon Kindle.
  • Dark Horse Digital Comics’ official digital storefront that provides a web reader to buy and view issues online.
  • The Bookwalker digital manga storefront, where you can buy official English volumes directly.
  • Dark Horse releases massive, oversized hardcover omnibuses that collect three standard volumes each and feature high-quality sewn binding that lies flat.
  • Individual paperback volumes on sale on Amazon and other online shopping outlets.

Berserk Chapter 383 focused on an internal, psychological journey for Guts rather than physical combat. After losing his weapons and sensory functions, Guts navigates a pitch-black space that forces him to confront his inner demons and trauma. The title of the chapter, “Anadi Avidya“, suggests a path toward enlightenment.

In the upcoming chapter, we can expect to see the fallout of Guts’ psychological collapse and his isolation inside the Kushan temple following the abduction of Casca by his once close friend and comrade, Griffith, who transformed into Femto. If we are not too far off, the chapter will focus on his potential reckoning with the Beast of Darkness and the heavy emotional stakes.

Why Does Seinen Manga Berserk Suffer From Frequent Hiatuses?

Even if we set aside the tragic animation downfall of the Berserk anime series, the manga also has a huge problem with its continuity, the long and frequent hiatuses. The almost one-year hiatus for the upcoming chapter is not the first time for the series, and we don’t think it will be the last time. Kentaro Miura was an extreme perfectionist known for intricate, movie-poster-quality panels – while we love his artwork even to this day, that level of commitment towards every panel takes up time; a long time.

But what followed that was even more tragic for all the fans: the release schedule fundamentally changed after Miura passed away in May 2021. Even before the mangaka passed away, Miura openly acknowledged that the grueling workload and the desire to maintain high artistic quality were taking a severe toll on his personal life and health. After his death, Miura’s long-time friend and manga artist Kouji Mori took over writing the overall storyline.

Since the idea of maintaining Miura’s legacy is an added pressure, Mori takes his time, meticulously constructing and inking each crosshatch of the series. Unlike manga series that run on a weekly and timely schedule, they publish new chapters in the Japanese magazine Young Animal only when they are finalized and meet the franchise’s legendary quality standard.
