Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk Collab Releases Next Month With Free Rebecca and More

The last time we heard of the Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collab was when Kuro Games first announced it during the Version 2.3 livestream in 2025. And today, the developer has finally pulled back the curtain on it, and we won’t have to wait much longer to jump into the crossover.

Kuro released a brand-new trailer today, on May 7, 2026, confirming that the event will officially launch in June 2026 alongside Version 3.4. The collab brings iconic Cyberpunk: Edgerunners characters into the world of Solaris-3, including Lucy, Rebecca, and even a surprise appearance from David Martinez.

The new trailers and posts also confirm that Rebecca will be available for free during the event. So let’s dive into all the new details.

Rebecca and Lucy Confirmed as Playable Characters

The newly released teaser trailer is our first proper look at how the characters from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will fit into Wuthering Waves. Rebecca and Lucy are both joining the playable roster, with each character bringing combat styles inspired directly by the anime.

We can see Rebecca with her signature oversized firearm and fighting with the same chaotic energy fans remember from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Kuro has confirmed she will be available for free during the collaboration event, and players can claim her simply by logging in while the crossover is active.

Lucy, meanwhile, showcases a more technical fighting style built around the Mono-Wire weapon commonly associated with Netrunners in the Cyberpunk universe. The trailer hints that her gameplay may include hacking mechanics, something that earlier leaks also suggested. We don’t know exactly how these systems will work yet, but it will be interesting for sure.

The crossover trailer also briefly shows David Martinez, the protagonist of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Towards the end of the trailer, David appears as Lucy stares at the moon. It’s an obvious callback to one of the anime’s most emotional themes, but what does it mean for the collab?

At the moment, it might just be a confirmation of his involvement in the collaboration story, but we don’t know whether he will eventually become playable.

The Cyberpunk Collaboration Will Head to Lahai-Roi in Version 3.4

Instead of taking us to Night City, the collaboration story will take place within Wuthering Waves itself, specifically in the Lahai-Roi region and around the Startorch Academy. The trailer shows the Edgerunners cast interacting with students and residents in Solaris-3.

The collaboration also comes at a good “filler” point in the game’s story. Version 3.3 recently wrapped up the main Lahai-Roi storyline involving Rover, Aemeath, and the defeat of the Threnodian Aleph-1.

Because of that, the story for Version 3.4 is relatively open and will most likely be centered almost entirely around the crossover event.

The teaser also included several references that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fans will recognize, especially the recurring imagery of the moon. Lucy’s fascination with the moon was one of the anime’s defining emotional motifs, and that is definitely highlighted here.

Based on the current patch schedule, we can expect Version 3.4 to launch around June 10, 2026, shortly after the end of Denia’s banner. Kuro has only officially stated that the collaboration begins in June, so it will definitely be with the next major update.

Wuthering Waves is currently celebrating its second anniversary with the Version 3.3 update and with free rewards, new playable characters, and a collab on the horizon, there is certainly a lot to look forward to.
