But who is the best doctor in the entire One Piece series?
While fans will put forward the name of Tony Tony Chopper, the cute reindeer doctor who is part of the Straw Hat Pirates, he might not get the top spot. The top spot is reserved for one of the members of the Worst Generation, who has shown his medical skills time and time again. This character is none other than Trafalgar D. Water Law, the captain of the Heart Pirates.
Law’s intelligence in medical science is far better than any other character in the entire One Piece series. This is reflected in the fact that he has brought Luffy back from the dead after the Marineford War.
Law’s Abilities As A Doctor in One Piece
Ever since Law’s character was introduced in One Piece, he has been quite mysterious in his ways. However, the one thing that Eiichiro Oda has made perfectly clear about him is that his medical skills are second to none. He has been proficient in medical science since his childhood and has only gotten better after receiving his Devil Fruit.
His Devil Fruit, the Ope Ope no Mi, is one of the main reasons why Law deserves the title of the best doctor in One Piece. His skills reached a new level because of the multiple abilities that his Devil Fruit provided, like Room, Amputate, Radio Knife, etc. Plus, his Devil Fruit offers the Perennial Youth Operation, which literally grants immortality.
Law can use his Devil Fruit abilities to sacrifice himself and grant immortality to whomever he chooses. He is the only character in the entire series who has the power of immortality in his hands. This makes him one of the best, if not the best, kind of doctor there can be in One Piece.
Law Saved Luffy’s Life After Marineford War
The real test of Trafalgar D. Water Law’s skills as a doctor was when he took charge of saving Luffy after the Paramount War in Marineford. Luffy was already suffering from his endeavors in Impel Down, and then he went on to steal the show during the Marineford War, but it came with a heavy price. He got so injured that he couldn’t even keep himself conscious.
When the war almost ended, Law decided to take Luffy and Jinbe on his ship and treat them. Both of them had brutal, life-threatening injuries that could have easily killed them. But Law was able to operate on both of them simultaneously and save them in time. This reflects Law’s unmatched medical skills in One Piece.
Also, the fact that Law was able to operate on Jinbe proves that Law’s proficiency not only lies in the human body but also in Fish-Men. Therefore, there is no doubt in the fact that Law might be the best doctor in the entire One Piece series.
