“We will fight fire with FREEDOM”: Latest Helldivers 2 X Post Has Fans Bracing for Bigger Battles Against the Automatons

Helldivers 2 recently dropped what looks like a standard Automaton propaganda dispatch on X. The post shows bots mining resources across the Magma Worlds, with the familiar promise to “fight fire with FREEDOM” and secure Super Earth’s mineral interests from further “theft”:

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Until botdivers started connecting dots that High Command likely didn’t mean to be connected:

The timing doesn’t sit right with anyone paying attention. Players are currently grinding bug-heavy missions on Omicron to extract E-711, a resource tied to the Star of Peace superweapon.

So why is Arrowhead reminding everyone about Automaton mining ops now? Either someone on the social team queued a post without checking the ongoing Major Order, or it’s laying the groundwork for something bigger. The community’s money is on the latter.

Why Botdivers Think Something Big Is Coming in Helldivers 2

The Magma Worlds update landed back on December 3, adding Automaton-controlled volcanic planets like Fury, K, and Mox. Those were liberated weeks ago, which makes the return to robot rhetoric feel oddly out of step with where the war is currently being fought.

Unless it is a deliberate diversion, this could mean one of two things. Either Arrowhead is setting the stage for a mid-order Automaton resurgence, or it’s laying narrative groundwork for what comes after the Star of Peace finishes charging.

Both theories would explain the sudden return of bot-centric messaging:

Combined with previous datamined references to Automaton Factory Worlds and a possible bot superweapon that could rival Super Earth’s own, the timing is indeed starting to look more like a setup than a mere coincidence.

Could Automatons Become the First Target of the Star of Peace?

In the latest Major Order briefing, High Command confirmed that the Star of Peace will fire “a cutting-edge beam of ionized Dark Fluid” capable of projecting liberty across entire planetary systems. And, as of writing, players are deep into E-711 extraction efforts on Omicron, gathering the massive reserves needed just to power one shot.

That’s why the sudden return of Automaton propaganda feels oddly timed. If the campaign is still focused on bugs, why bring up bots mining resources on long-liberated magma worlds?

To that end, one theory is that the bots—not the bugs—will end up being the Star of Peace’s first target. The timing lines up. The grind is nearly complete. The weapon is almost ready:

Whether this is a deliberate narrative staging or just expertly timed “engagement bait” from the devs, the effect is the same. Players are speculating, theorizing, and watching closely for what comes next.

Do you think the Star of Peace is meant for bugs, or are the bots about to become Super Earth’s real problem? Let us know in the comments below!
