Where does this all begin? Miley Cyrus dropped the video on January 12, which also happens to be Hemsworth’s birthday. On January 13, the X account @ThePopTingz made the baseless claim of Hemsworth having an affair with more than 14 women. It was an oddly specific number and claim, which quickly gained attention.

Other fans also started looking for clues and made claims based on even the slightest hint in the video. One fan claimed on X that Cyrus ridiculed Bruno Mars’ song When I Was Your Man in her lyrics, adding that it was the song that Hemsworth dedicated to her at their wedding.
Another popular TikTok theory suggested that Cyrus wore the same suit in which she appeared at the Avengers: Endgame premiere alongside Hemsworth in 2019 (via WMTV/YouTube). Fans claim that she was referring to the time when Hemsworth allegedly told her to “behave.” From the video, it is not clear what the actor had told his then-wife.
Even more absurd claims appeared on TikTok and X about Hemsworth and Cyrus’ breakup drama. When asked about the rumor mill, the Wrecking Ball singer had a simple answer to Bustle, “I never need to be a master at the craft of tricking an audience. It will set itself on fire all by itself.” Interestingly, the rumors also covered Hemsworth’s alleged affair with Jennifer Lawrence.

One TikToker claimed that Miley Cyrus’ gold dress in the Flowers video was a reference to Jennifer Lawrence‘s outfit at The Hunger Games premiere. The claim was made based on the allegations of Hemsworth hooking up with Lawrence during the film. To make matters worse, Lawrence admitted to kissing her co-star offscreen during an interview.
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Cohen asked whether the rumors that she and Hemsworth were engaged in PDA had any truth to them. Lawrence, in a playful manner, answered, “Liam and I grew up together. Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?” She then went on to jokingly admit that they had kissed, sharing, “I did, at one point.” Lawrence’s lighthearted response sparked rumors of an affair.
Miley Cyrus has made it clear she doesn’t believe there was ever any truth to these fan rumors, putting the entire matter to rest.
