Penn Badgley Not Sending Blake Lively Any Wedding Gift After Breakup and Their “Amicable Silence” Clearly Tells 1 Thing
It’s been a long time since the controversial breakup of Gossip Girl stars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, but fans of the hit show are still sad over it. After two and a half years of dating, the former Hollywood “it” couple called it quits. However, they maintained professionalism on set, especially after having to work for another two years on the series.
Lively went on to marry Ryan Reynolds whom she met on the set of Green Lantern. When asked if Badgley ever thought of sending her a wedding gift, he replied in the negative. There were many speculations as to why the actor kept quiet all these years, but he maintained that his relationship with Lively was a learning experience.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are caught in a huge controversy involving their feud with director Justin Baldoni, and along with the string of accusations and lawsuits, past interviews of Lively’s former coworkers have resurfaced on the Internet.
Perhaps the most popular name in this list would be Penn Badgley, her ex-boyfriend. They dated from 2007 to 2010, and despite their breakup, they still endured working on Gossip Girl. The actor revealed both of them were very professional, and he didn’t like making a huge fuss out of it.
When asked by Elle Magazine if he sent his ex-girlfriend a gift for her wedding with Reynolds, he promptly said, “No, I didn’t.” While most people would take this as a sign of bitterness, it was really just his way of avoiding more issues.
Badgley has been keeping it low-key over the years and has not appeared in huge franchises until 2018’s You. He also revealed to Huffington Post that they don’t keep in touch (via E! News):
We haven’t spoken in a while, you know. There’s an amicable silence, if that makes any sense.
It is quite evident that Badgley no longer wants to speak about his past relationship with Lively. His actions, as well as statements in interviews, demonstrate that he also tries to avoid making headlines or stirring new controversy. But, now that Lively is in the spotlight again for the wrong reasons, the actor may not be able to dodge this issue once and for all.

Even though Badgley did not send any gifts to Lively, he expressed happiness for her for having found the love she deserved. He once said that people had been asking him about her wedding with Reynolds, which he thought was great, but his concern was that the public was trying so hard to connect him to someone who was no longer in his life.
Badgley remained positive about his past romance with Lively. Even though he rarely mentions it, he would only say good things, such as the split being a life lesson and that the experience was good until it lasted.
