Created by Jay Carson, Jennifer Aniston, and Reese Witherspoon, The Morning Show is one of the most popular shows to premiere on Apple TV+. The show is inspired by Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning, which was published in 2013. The Morning Show has very keenly examined the aspects of the #MeToo movement in the first season, followed by taking up current and political topics to cover.
Ardent fans of the show have loved the chemistry between the two leading ladies and mentioned that it’s an absolute treat to watch them take on their strong characters to their full glory. It is the second most-watched series on the streaming platform after Ted Lasso. As it is set to return for season four, here’s everything we know about The Morning Show.
What is the fourth season of The Morning Show going to be about?
Apple TV+ has not yet released any information on what the upcoming season of The Morning Show will be about, but it can be assumed that it will pick up from where it left off in season three. The aftermath of the merger between UBA and NBN will most likely take center stage as the plot.
The merger between the two media companies led to a tease of a new role Jennifer Aniston’s Alex Levy is going to take: a real seat at the table. If it happens, then maybe we get to see Alex Levy as a strong character. Apart from this, various reports suggested that fallout from Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson’s cover-up of her brother’s involvement in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol could also be a center of focus for season four.
Over three seasons, it has been evident that The Morning Show does not hesitate to take up relevant and hard-hitting topics to cover. This bold move has impressed the audience, and they look forward to watching yet another interesting season of two strong women taking on the world.
According to The Direct, the release window of The Morning Show was finally revealed as ‘Summer 2025.’ The streaming platform also released some pictures from the upcoming season. As the filming for the show’s season 4 concluded in December 2024, it is speculated that the upcoming season can be set against the backdrop of U.S. presidential elections.
Who is returning for The Morning Show Season 4?
The Morning Show takes the audience inside the fictional news network, UBA; the star cast remains huge for the network to work. However, as of now, Aniston & Witherspoon will be back for season four of The Morning Show. The actresses also serve as the executive producers of the show.
Speaking to Variety, Aniston shared her experience of working on the show.
We thrive, and it’s quite—dare I say it—easy. It’s such a pleasant set to be on. We love to communicate. We love to work stuff out, and we don’t just shove stuff under the rug. There’s no stone left unturned in a creative decision.
She added that they all brainstorm together, and there’s something so wonderful about trusting one’s co-workers to know that if five people told them they looked sick, they’d lie down.
Apart from the actresses, Billy Crudup’s Cory Ellison, Mark Duplass’ Chip Black, Greta Lee’s Stella Bak, and Karen Pittman’s Mia Jordan, along with Nestor Carbonell’s Yanko Flores, are likely to return. Actor Jeremy Irons as Alex Levy’s father, Marion Cotillard as Celine Dunmont, and Aaron Pierre as Miles are going to be new faces to be seen in season four.
Jon Hamm, who played Paul Marks in season three, would not like to return for season four, following his storyline having been put on the back burner towards the end of season three. A cameo of the actor who currently stars in Apple TV+’s Your Friends & Neighbors can help to drive a story if needed.
When will The Morning Show Season 4 premiere?
Season three of The Morning Show concluded in November 2023, and fans have been eagerly waiting for season four. However, the show is very likely to premiere in the summer of 2025, i.e., June to September. The show can premiere around August or September 2025.
Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt shared with THR when asked about what fans can expect in season four; she mentioned that they can expect to see the consequences of season three being played out in every sense and for every character. She added,
The show is a love story between these women. The core of The Morning Show is their dynamic and how they change each other. And I think that always has to be there. So, we’ll find a way. They’ll be in the same room, somehow.
Stoudt also hinted about the time jumps on the show, as she believed that one does not want to get too far behind in real-time. Guess we’ll see how things work out when the streaming platform or the actors are ready to share about the plotline.
The Morning Show Seasons 1-3 are streaming on Apple TV+.
