Social media continues to speculate and debate about D4vd‘s involvement in the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. However, these speculations often have no facts to back them. A few similar theories have popped up on X recently, including one that said Celeste was pregnant when she was killed.
On September 8, 2025, Los Angeles police discovered human remains inside a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd. The body was identified to be that of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was reported missing from Lake Elsinore in April 2024. There is an ongoing police investigation, and D4vd is reportedly “fully cooperating” at this point (via NBC).
However, no official report emerged from this investigation that Hernandez was pregnant. So, the claim remains unverified at this point and appears to be a pure speculation. Further, another internet theory said that D4vd was involved in two other murders as well.
The LA Times reported on another incident where the remains of a female were found inside a Honda Civic car in a different tow yard in the vicinity. Fans believed there was a connection between the two cases. However, the LAPD has established no connections between these two cases.
In another internet rumor, fans were convinced that D4vd killed Celeste’s alleged former boyfriend, Gus (via @29tre/X). It was revealed in a screengrab video of a chat with Hernandez’s alleged brother, Matthew Rivas. However, none of these claims has been verifiable yet.
Other False Rumors in the D4vd – Celeste Rivas Hernandez Case
Amid the ongoing investigation, several false rumors have surfaced about D4vd and his relationship with the murder victim. A car chase video of LAPD pursuing a murder suspect went viral on X, after streamer xQc claimed it was that of D4vd. However, it was not D4vd in the video.
Fans unearthed alleged videos of a girl whom they claim to be the murder victim, Celeste, seen with D4vd. They brought up a video from the singer’s Twitch stream, where a girl is spotted beside the singer. They were convinced that this girl was Celeste Rivas.
However, many fans later claimed that the girl in the video wasn’t Celeste Herrera, but another 23-year-old girl who was friends with D4vd.

Streamer xQc claimed in another video that multiple songs of D4vd were released on September 7, which he claimed was the victim’s birthday. However, the birth date of Celeste Rivas Hernandez hasn’t been confirmed anywhere. Moreover, the release dates of the song also varied and didn’t support the claim.
Fans also claimed that several lines from D4vd’s breakout hit, Romantic Homicide, suggested D4vd’s alleged disturbing behavior. One line in particular, “In the back of my car, I killed you,” went viral on social media. However, a simple fact-check would prove that the lines actually read, “In the back of my mind, I killed you.”
A report from @CheesurUpdate on X said that MarkyNextDoor, a Twitch and Kick streamer and allegedly D4vd’s bodyguard, was under FBI investigation for the murder of Celeste Hernandez. However, other users added in the context section that the post was fabricated. MarkyNextDoor addressed the accusation on X, sharing that the screenshot proving his involvement was fake.
Police Searched D4vd’s LA Home in Connection With Celeste’s Murder
Reports emerged that D4vd canceled the rest of his U.S. tour after the body in his car was identified. The singer was on tour to promote his new album. A day after the remains were found, D4vd performed in Minneapolis as part of his tour.
He was all set to perform in Los Angeles last weekend. This event and a Grammy Museum appearance this week were removed from the singer’s website. TMZ reported that all remaining dates on the tour were also cancelled.
Most recently, the police searched the Hollywood Hills home belonging to the singer on Wednesday night. According to ABC7, D4vd was present at his home when the LAPD searched the premises. However, TMZ reported that the LAPD detectives walked out of his home with a computer and several evidence bags.
According to the BBC, the LAPD received a call on September 8, complaining about a “foul odour coming from a vehicle” at a tow yard. The Tesla was towed from the Hollywood Hills area after it was abandoned five days earlier. It had a Texas license plate.
