In March 2025, One Piece fans in Japan got a mouthwatering surprise when popular ice cream chain Baskin-Robbins collaborated with One Piece to bring a limited-time event to the Japanese fans. The campaign titled “The Grand Ice Cream Era: Delicious Encounters With Your Crew” was the first official collaboration between the ice cream chain and Eiichiro Oda’s creation.
From April 1, 2025, Baskin-Robbins began offering specialty ice cream cups, which were inspired by One Piece characters like Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and more. They also offered collectible acrylic character charms dedicated to the characters. The treats embodied the different characters’ aesthetics served on top of illustrated cups.
The One Piece X Baskin-Robbins Collaboration That Took Japan by Storm

The ice-creams served by the chain during this event were unique and quickly became a hit. The most iconic flavor was Gomu Gomu no Fruit Punch, a pun of Luffy’s iconic attack: Gomu Gomu no Pistol, a devastating punch that combines Luffy’s strength with his Devil Fruit powers. The ice cream was marketed as a mysterious fruit-flavored sorbet that tastes like a different fruit with each bite.
Of course, just one unique flavor doesn’t cut it, so Baskin-Robbins also offered other flavors like: Luffy Suge!! Pirate Double Cup, Zoro & Sanji Royoyoku Sundae, Nami Kirakira Orange Sundae, Chopper Sakura Amaama Sundae, and Egghead Ice Cream Set. Each of the ice creams pays tribute to the heroic characters of One Piece and their achievements.
The cups also contained intricate artworks of the characters in a cutesy style, designed to attract One Piece fanatics. The event ran from April 1, 2025, all the way to May 8, 2025. Unfortunately, this was a Japan-exclusive crossover, and Baskin-Robbins’ branches in other countries did not serve the anime-themed desserts.
Here is a table with all the flavors from the collaboration:
| Baskin-Robbins x One Piece ice cream flavor | Description |
| Gomu Gomu no Fruits Punch | Two scoops of ice cream with a Straw Hat Jolly Roger cookie |
| Luffy Suge!! Pirate Double Cup | Two scoops of ice cream with a Straw Hat Jolly Roger cookie |
| Zoro & Sanji Ryoyoku Sundae | Matcha and strawberry flavored sundae topped with whipped cream and ‘Wanted’ chocolate |
| Nami Kirakira Orange Sundae | Orange sherbet sundae with whipped cream and gold coin decoration, Nami-themed chocolate |
| Chopper Sakura Amaama Sundae | Fruit-flavored purple sherbet with soda-style candy ribbons and popping candy |
| Egghead Ice Cream Set | Eight scoops of ice cream in a custom Straw Hat crew box |
Baskin-Robbins’ Epic Marketing of One Piece Themed Ice Creams

The reason Baskin-Robbins’ collaboration with One Piece hit hard wasn’t just for its new flavors and cutesy artworks. In fact, it was the marketing that really grabbed some eyeballs. An official illustration of the collab was revealed, which set the stage for the new ice cream releases.
Smoker debuted in chapter 98 of the One Piece manga, and in the scene, he stumbled upon a girl named Yu at Loguetown. The girl accidentally spilled the ice cream on Smoker’s uniform, soiling it, but instead of getting mad, he just handed her a few coins and said to get five scoops the next time.

Eiichiro Oda himself created an illustration of the girl happily running with three scoops of ice cream. Chapter 98 was released in 1999, making the reference 25 years old. This attention to detail immediately made fans love the idea.
