James Gunn has some bad news for fans who were excited for The Brave and the Bold; the director has decided to delay the production of The Brave and the Bold.
Following the leak that Michael Rooker was going to portray Damian Wayne in the film, Gunn did not have the best reaction on X as his anger was visible through the funny tweet, and this just might be the reason behind the delay.

In a recent interview with IGN, Gunn was asked about the storyline of The Brave and the Bold. Although James Gunn didn’t explicitly say the cause, the director’s comments seemed to hint that the leak had caused some problems in the storyline.
I think you have to wait to see the movie. Some things have changed. Plenty of things are in flux on what his situation is with his parentage and all that stuff, so I wouldn’t take any of it.

The only problem with the casting is that Damian Wayne is supposed to be much younger than Bruce Wayne, being his kid and all. Naturally, if Michael Rooker were to play Damian Wayne, then Batman would have to be in his mid-50s to early 60s to counteract the age difference.

Well, although the actor’s age is a contributing factor, other hopeful fans suggest that Gunn is planning for a multiversal tie-up where Michael Rooker’s older Damian Wayne somehow meets the Batman of this universe and has a story to tell.
Of course, with the leaked casting and James Gunn’s message regarding it, there is a very likely possibility that the The Suicide Squad director might just change the storyline of the entire movie now.

Well, with the director stating that audiences will have to wait and see where the story of The Brave and the Bold takes us, it could potentially hint that James Gunn might just change the story of the upcoming DCU movie in its entirety.
His particular words about how nothing is certain could potentially hint that the leaked casting of Michael Rooker was a devastating blow to Gunn, and he was forced to change the storyline to avoid a spoiler-filled launch of The Brave and the Bold.
