For a long time, Sydney Sweeney has faced allegations of having her face done through plastic surgery or Botox. Now, she is finally setting the record straight.
Recently, Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried sat down for Allure‘s Truth Serum, where they took turns asking each other questions from placards in front of them.
When asked to debunk a beauty rumor about herself, Sweeney admitted that she has never had any cosmetic surgery. Why? She is simply too scared of needles. The actress said,
Let’s debunk them all. I have never gotten work done. I am so scared of needles, you have no idea. I am too scared of needles.
Talking about how people use photos from her past to compare her face today, Sweeney had some stern words for the trolls. She stated, “You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting. Of course, I am gonna look different! Everybody on social media is insane.“
Sweeney also talked about how her face would’ve been “even” if she had surgery, referring to a wakeboarding accident she had in the past, which left her with 19 stitches over her eye.
Sydney Sweeney Was Told to Fix Her Face

This isn’t the first time Sydney Sweeney has opened up about plastic surgery allegations. Back in October, the actress was in conversation with Variety, where she asserted, “I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully.“
Once again, she added,
I’m like, ‘I’m 12 in that photo. Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older.’
Despite her aversion to cosmetic enhancements, Sweeney recalls how she was told to “fix her face” when she was much younger. Talking about her “very strong eyebrow muscles“, she stated, “I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I’m not going to make it. I should get Botox. I was 16!“
Well, Sweeney didn’t pay attention to the suggestion, and it is safe to say that she, in fact, did make it. She recently starred in the sports biopic, Christy. Soon, we will see her reprise her iconic role in Euphoria. Moreover, she is set to appear in The Housemaid and is also rumored to be in The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Sydney Sweeney Almost Had Surgery at 18
Sydney Sweeney’s body has been a topic of conversation for as long as we can remember. While some applaud her for being confident in her body, others have trolled her left and right for the same. As for Sweeney, she couldn’t care less.
Talking to Glamour magazine, Sweeney pointed out the hypocrisy when it comes to her and other actresses. She stated:
Well, especially when it comes to red-carpet pics and they’re like, ‘Sydney Sweeney displays bust,’ or ‘Sydney Sweeney wears a scandalous dress,’ I’m like, ‘I’m wearing the exact same dress someone else would be wearing! I just have t*ts.’ And if someone else is wearing it, they’d be like, ‘Oh, so sleek and so well-mannered.’
The Anyone But You star also revealed that she almost had a reduction surgery when she was 18, thanks to all the pressure around her. Now, she is grateful to her mother and her past self for not going through with it.
When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my b**bs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a b**b job to make them smaller. And my mum told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college’. And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends.
Well, there you go. Neither is Sweeney looking to have work done on her face, nor will she be insecure about her body. The trolls will just have to try elsewhere!
