Have you heard rumors of another GTA 6 delay in the last few days? If you have, we’re here to let you know that they are firmly untrue. The rumors initially made it seem like Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier all but confirmed another major delay, but that isn’t actually what happened.
This is a complete misunderstanding of what I said, which is that I wouldn't be shocked if GTA6 *does* come out this fall, following the same delay pattern as RDR2. Of course another delay is possible. It's a video game. But this blog post is very misleading (just reach out to me – it's not hard!)

Following the entire spiral, the reporter has clarified his comments and shared his thoughts on the last few days of rumors. So, where did this claim come from? Did Rockstar Games say anything? And what did Schreier really say?
What Jason Schreier Actually Said About GTA 6

The misunderstanding happened after Schreier appeared on the Button Mash podcast, where he discussed the current state of GTA 6’s development. He mentioned that the last he heard, the game wasn’t yet “content complete,” which means that Rockstar was still finalizing missions and other parts of the game.
A lot of fans ended up thinking that this meant a delay was on the way. But it seems that most people misunderstood Schreier’s key point. He said it’s hard to say with absolute certainty that GTA 6 will hit its November 19, 2026, release date, because game development is unpredictable, especially at Rockstar’s scale.
Insider Jason Schreier shares new GTA 6 details:

– The last he heard the game was NOT content complete
– He believes it’s really hard to say right now if the game will release in November, and doesn’t think anyone at Rockstar is 100% certain they’ll make it

Schreier was quick to shut the rumor down. On Bluesky, he directly called the interpretation of his comments “a complete misunderstanding,” clarifying that he never claimed GTA 6 would be delayed to 2027. In fact, he said the opposite, saying that he wouldn’t be shocked if the game does come out this fall.
In other words, Schreier wasn’t predicting a delay to 2027. He was pointing out two very different truths. Delays are always possible, but the current release window feels more real than all the previous targets.
How His Comments Got Turned Into a 2027 Delay Rumor
From there, we started to get headlines that reported on a possible third delay. Social media posts turned “a delay is possible” into “a delay is coming.” And soon enough, fans started bracing for 2027 without any new information to justify it.
It's impossible to overstate how stupid this is

And what’s the craziest part is that the stocks for Take-Two, Rockstar Games’ parent company, dropped by over 4% following the rumors. Schreier summed it up best when he reacted to it, saying that the idea that GTA 6 delay rumors could move stock prices and betting odds based on a misread podcast comment is, in his words, “impossible to overstate how stupid this is.”
So, did Jason Schreier claim GTA 6 will be delayed to 2027? No. He said the game isn’t finished yet, that no one can guarantee a release date this far out, and that delays are always possible. At the same time, he also said he wouldn’t be surprised if the game does make its current November 2026 window.
