Honkai Star Rail is finally getting the Version 4.0 update, titled No Aha at Full Moon, and it officially launches on February 13, 2026. After an unusually long gap following Version 3.8, HoYoverse is setting the tone for the next year of content with 4.0. Here’s everything you need to know about the new update.

We’re getting a brand-new Path, a new world, and a ton of new changes that will make 4.0 one of the biggest patches the game has seen so far. The newest region that we’re getting is Planarcadia, a planet devoted to entertainment, excess, and the Aeon of Elation, Aha. We’re also getting the debut of Elation as a playable Path, with two new five-star characters, Yao Guang and Sparxie.
Honkai Star Rail 4.0 Brings Planarcadia and the Path of Elation

Honkai Star Rail Version 4.0 is taking the Astral Express and us to Planarcadia, a new world covered in neon where conflict is settled through games rather than war. Once a flat and empty world, Planarcadia was changed under IPC management into a hub of spectacle, influence, and clout-driven culture.
The first major area we’ll get to explore is Duomension City, a hyper-modern metropolis filled with massive screens, holographic projections, and living constructs known as imagenae, which are beings born from art and imagination that coexist with humans.
Planarcadia is also the setting for the Phantasmoon Games, a lawless competition said to be founded by Aha themselves. The prize for winning is pretty crazy. You get a brief moment to wield the authority of the Aeon of Elation. Participants range from local elites to major factions like the IPC, the Xianzhou Alliance, the Masked Fools, and even the Stellaron Hunters, with familiar faces such as Silver Wolf and Blade making their appearance.
This chaotic spirit carries directly into gameplay with the introduction of the Path of Elation. Elation characters will use a new resource called Punchlines, which accumulate through skills and special effects. When enough Punchlines are generated, combat can trigger an Aha Instant, a phase where Elation characters can use chained abilities with amplified effects.
Afterward, they receive “Certified Banger” buffs, which suit aggressive, tempo-driven playstyles. The exploration is also getting some new changes. By using Interplanar Jump portals scattered across Duomension City, we’ll be able to explore alternate versions of the environment where physics and movement rules change. We’ll be able to double-jump, walk on water, or transform into special Trailblazemon forms.
New Characters, Banners, Events, and Other Updates

Honkai Star Rail Version 4.0 is bringing two new limited 5-star characters, both from the Path of Elation. Yao Guang, a Physical Elation support, launches in Phase 1 and remains available throughout the entire version.
Known as the Seer Strategist of the Xianzhou Yuque, Yao Guang’s abilities include controlling battle flow through buffs, Punchline generation, and resource recovery.
Arriving in Phase 2 is Sparxie, a Fire Elation main DPS and a streamer persona closely tied to Sparkle. From what we’ve seen, Sparxie’s gameplay includes rapid action cycles, Skill Point consumption, and damage through Punchline stacking. Her abilities include chaotic, multi-hit attacks and random effects that grow stronger the more resources she burns.

The banner lineup also features reruns. Phase 1 includes Evernight, Hysilens, and Black Swan, while Phase 2 brings back Cerydra, Rappa, and Sparkle. Outside of characters and story, Version 4.0 is packed with events and rewards.
We’ll be able to participate in activities like Cosmicon, Roll On!, a card-based combat event, and Furbobo Weekly, which puts us in the role of a magazine editor. We’re also getting updates to popular modes such as Currency Wars and Divergent Universe, which include new mechanics, expanded progression, and bonus reward periods.
There will also be login events throughout the patch that will grant up to 20 free Warps, Stellar Jade rewards, and limited-time bonuses. The update is also bringing some new cosmetics and skins. We can unlock new outfits and head accessories through gameplay, while Ruan Mei’s new outfit, “Plumblossom Letter,” is available for free during Version 4.0.
In addition, we’ll be able to claim a free, limited 5-star character from a selection simply by logging in during the event window. Finally, HoYoverse is also giving us some pretty big quality-of-life updates. Assignments are now fully flexible, allowing rewards to be collected automatically without fixed timers or character restrictions.
The Relic system will finally let us preview the last sub-stat before upgrading. Genshin Impact got this change a while ago, and it’s nice to see it here finally.
