FROM Season 4 finale is shaping up to be the show’s most dangerous chapter yet, and the latest teaser has left viewers with more reasons to worry than celebrate. Red lightning is tearing across the sky, the Bottle Tree has seemingly been tampered with, the creatures are closing in on Jade and Tabitha beneath the ground, and Sophia appears ready to unleash the destruction she has been hinting at all season.
FROM Season 4 Episode 9 carefully arranged the pieces on the board. Boyd approved the mission to recover the Anghkooey children’s bones. Victor desperately warned everyone not to interfere with the Bottle Tree. Sophia quietly sabotaged the rope ladder. Elgin uncovered evidence suggesting Sophia has lived through this nightmare before. By the time the teaser for Episode 10 arrived, it became clear that every decision made in Episode 9 could carry devastating consequences.
The finale’s title, If a Tree Falls in the Forest…, hardly sounds reassuring either. Whether the residents are finally approaching freedom or walking straight into another massacre remains to be seen. Based on everything revealed so far, these 7 characters appear to be standing closest to the edge.
7. Tabitha Matthews

Tabitha has become one of the central figures in the mystery surrounding the Anghkooey children, which is precisely why her survival feels uncertain. She and Jade were chosen to retrieve the children’s bones after discovering that their unique connection to the town may hold the key to escaping. Unfortunately, the teaser suggests the graveyard operation spirals out of control when the creatures breach the area. Narratively, losing Tabitha would create an emotional earthquake for Ethan and Julie while simultaneously proving that nobody is protected by plot armor. However, her importance to the larger mythology may keep her alive a little longer.
6. Jade Herrera

Jade has spent four seasons chasing answers, often throwing himself into danger in pursuit of the truth. The finale places him inside the graveyard beneath the Bottle Tree, surrounded by awakened creatures and trapped in an increasingly unstable environment. If the talismans have truly lost their power after the bones were disturbed, Jade may find himself facing a threat unlike anything he has encountered before. The closer he gets to solving Fromville’s mystery, the more vulnerable he becomes.
5. Fatima Hassan

Fatima’s condition continues to worsen, and the teaser offers little reassurance. The strange transformation affecting her body has reached a frightening stage. Hair loss, severe pain, and expanding vein-like marks suggest that whatever is happening inside her is approaching a critical turning point. What makes Fatima’s situation particularly alarming is that death may not even be the worst outcome. The series has repeatedly hinted that some fates in Fromville are far darker than simply dying.
4. Acosta

Acosta has steadily become more involved in the town’s decision-making process, and that usually comes with consequences in From. The teaser shows her confronting Boyd and refusing to surrender when circumstances begin collapsing around them. While that determination is admirable, it also places her directly in harm’s way during what appears to be a catastrophic event. Characters who push forward during moments of panic often become casualties when things spiral beyond control.
3. Randall Kirkland

Randall has survived encounters that would have eliminated many others, but his luck may finally be running out. He appears near the center of the finale’s chaos, standing alongside Boyd and Ellis while the sky erupts with unnatural red lightning. If the creatures gain unrestricted access to buildings and hiding places, Randall could find himself trapped in a battle with nowhere left to run. His survival instincts are exceptional, but even the toughest residents have limits.
2. Kristi Miller

Few characters worry me more than Kristi heading into the finale. The teaser strongly suggests that someone suffers a serious injury during the Bottle Tree operation. As the town’s primary medical professional, Kristi would naturally rush toward danger rather than away from it. History has shown that healers in horror stories rarely receive happy endings. They often place themselves between danger and the people they care about, and that selflessness frequently comes at a terrible cost.
1. Elgin

If there is one character whose absence speaks louder than any appearance, it is Elgin. After discovering the old photograph featuring Sophia, he completely vanishes from the finale teaser. There were no quick shots, no reaction shots, and that silence feels ominous. Elgin has been tied to some of the season’s most unsettling revelations, and Sophia’s reaction to the photograph suggests he may have stumbled across information he was never supposed to find. Whether he is dead, captured, or transformed into one of Sophia’s pawns remains unclear, but his disappearance feels impossible to ignore.
Among all the residents, Elgin currently looks like the most vulnerable.
Dark Horse Pick: Sophia

Sophia has spent FROM season 4 speaking as though she already knows how this story ends. She sabotaged the rope ladder, appears connected to previous cycles of the town’s history, and openly talks about watching everything burn. Yet villains who become overly confident often discover that their certainty was misplaced. If the Anghkooey children’s bones genuinely represent the town’s weak point, Sophia may find herself facing consequences she never anticipated.
The teaser feels less like a setup for one shocking death and more like a warning that another large-scale tragedy is approaching. The red lightning, the apparent failure of the graveyard defenses, the possible collapse of the talisman system, and Sophia’s increasingly aggressive behavior all point toward a finale where survival itself becomes the primary objective. Personally, I think Elgin and Kristi are in the greatest danger. However, I would not be surprised if the finale delivers a devastating surprise involving a character most viewers currently consider safe.
