Some Naruto characters left behind more than just their legacy. They also left behind powerful abilities that could have changed the series if someone else had gained control of them.
That is exactly what made Sasori so dangerous. Instead of simply defeating his enemies, the Akatsuki member turned dead shinobi into Human Puppets that could still use many of their original techniques. With that said, here are some of the legendary Naruto ninja who would have become Sasori’s greatest creations if he had gotten hold of their bodies.
1. Sakumo Hatake Was the Perfect Human Puppet for Sasori
Sakumo Hatake is one of those Naruto characters who became legendary even though fans never got to see him fight in his prime. Long before Kakashi earned his own reputation, the “White Fang of the Leaf” was already considered one of the Hidden Leaf’s greatest shinobi. Minato Namikaze even noted that during Sakumo’s era, his fame surpassed that of the Legendary Sannin.
That reputation alone makes him an ideal Human Puppet, but the true value lies in the history between them. Sakumo was the Leaf shinobi who killed Sasori’s parents during the Second Shinobi World War – an event that traumatized Sasori and drove him toward puppetry in the first place. Turning Sakumo into a Human Puppet wouldn’t just give Sasori an elite swordsman known for incredible speed and skill; it would also serve as the ultimate, twisted act of vengeance, turning his parents’ killer into his personal plaything.
2. Shisui Uchiha Could Outspeed Almost Anyone
Shisui Uchiha earned the nickname “Shisui of the Body Flicker” because very few shinobi could keep up with his speed. Even before the Uchiha Clan Downfall, he was respected across the Hidden Leaf as one of the clan’s brightest talents. His Mangekyo Sharingan also gave him Kotoamatsukami, one of the most powerful genjutsu in the series.
Even without focusing on his Mangekyo abilities, Shisui would still be an incredible Human Puppet. One weakness of puppets is that skilled enemies can eventually predict their movements. Shisui solves that problem immediately. His speed alone would allow Sasori to pressure opponents from the very start of a fight, making it much harder for them to find an opening.
3. Izuna Uchiha Deserved a Second Life
Izuna Uchiha lived during the Warring States Era, long before the Hidden Villages were created. He fought beside Madara Uchiha in countless battles against the Senju Clan and awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan at a time when very few people possessed that power.
Sasori believed that true art should last forever, and Izuna perfectly fits that idea. Most of Izuna’s battles were never shown because he died so early in Naruto‘s timeline. Turning him into a Human Puppet would allow one of history’s greatest Uchiha warriors to keep fighting. It also feels like the kind of rare masterpiece Sasori would proudly add to his collection.
4. Fugaku Uchiha Could Add Another Sharingan
Fugaku Uchiha is often overlooked because the story focused more on Itachi and Sasuke. Still, he was one of the strongest members of the Uchiha Clan during his lifetime. He led the clan before the Uchiha Clan Downfall and earned enough respect during the Third Great Ninja War to be considered a possible Fourth Hokage.
Fugaku would have given Sasori much more than another powerful puppet. He was calm, smart, and always thought several moves ahead. That fits Sasori’s fighting style perfectly. A Human Puppet with Fugaku’s Sharingan and battlefield experience could have helped him control the flow of almost any fight.
5. Kagami Uchiha Was a Hidden Leaf Legend
Kagami Uchiha is one of the biggest mysteries in Naruto. He never received much screen time, but the little canon information we have says a lot about him. During the First Shinobi World War, Tobirama Senju trusted Kagami enough to include him in his personal escort squad. Coming from Tobirama, who was always cautious around the Uchiha, that speaks volumes.
That trust is exactly why Kagami belongs on this list. Sasori never cared about fame. He cared about talent. Kagami’s quick reactions, Sharingan, and years of battle experience would have made him a dependable Human Puppet. He may not be as famous as Madara or Itachi, but he feels like the kind of hidden gem Sasori would love to add to his collection.
6. Mu Could Destroy Enemies From Afar
Mu, the Second Tsuchikage, showed just how dangerous he was during the Fourth Great Ninja War. His Dust Release is one of the rarest and strongest kekkei tota in the series, capable of breaking targets down at the molecular level. On top of that, he could make himself invisible and completely hide his chakra signature.
It is hard to imagine a better long-range Human Puppet than Mu. Sasori already preferred fighting from a safe distance while controlling multiple puppets at once. Giving one of those puppets Dust Release would make that strategy even deadlier. Enemies would have to deal with invisible attacks and one of the strongest techniques in Naruto, all while trying to find the real Sasori.
7. Gengetsu Hozuki Was Built for Mind Games
The Second Mizukage may be one of the funniest Kage in Naruto, but he was also one of the smartest fighters. Fans got to see his full abilities during the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he constantly confused the Allied Shinobi Forces using his abilities. Experienced ninjas had trouble figuring out what he was up to.
This particular fighting style suits Sasori very well; he liked to confuse his enemies before finishing them with hidden weapons or poison. A Human Puppet based on Gengetsu could keep opponents chasing illusions while Sasori attacked from another direction. It would be one of the trickiest puppets in his entire collection.
8. Pakura Had One of the Deadliest Kekkei Genkai
Pakura did not get much time in the original story, but she quickly became memorable during the Fourth Great Ninja War. After being brought back with the Reanimation Jutsu, fans finally saw why Sunagakure once feared and respected her. Her Scorch Release could dry out an opponent’s body almost instantly, making it one of the deadliest kekkei genkai in the series.
Sasori always preferred techniques that ended fights quickly, and Pakura’s abilities fit that idea perfectly. One successful attack could completely change the battle. Adding Scorch Release to his Human Puppet army would also give Sasori another rare elemental weapon, making his collection even harder to counter.
9. Kimimaro Was Born to Be a Living Weapon
Kimimaro proved how dangerous he was during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. Even though he was dying from a serious illness, he pushed both Rock Lee and Gaara to their limits. If his body had not given out during the fight, he might have defeated them both despite fighting alone.
His Shikotsumyaku makes him one of the easiest choices for this list. Kimimaro could create blades, armor, spears, and even forests of bones using his own skeleton. Those abilities would work perfectly with Sasori’s Human Puppets because they focused on close-range combat. A puppet that could constantly create new bone weapons would be incredibly difficult to stop.
10. Hanzo Matched Sasori’s Love for Poison
Before the Akatsuki became famous, Hanzo was already one of the most feared shinobi in the ninja world. During the Second Great Ninja War, he defeated Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru before sparing their lives and giving them the title of the Legendary Sannin. His strength alone made him a living legend.
More importantly, Hanzo fought in a way that feels very similar to Sasori. Both shinobi trusted poison more than raw power. Hanzo’s poison sacs, deadly weapons, and summoned Ibuse would have made an incredible Human Puppet. It almost feels surprising that Sasori never tried to obtain Hanzo’s body because their fighting styles were such a natural match.
These Dead Naruto Shinobi Also Fit Sasori’s Collection
Several other dead shinobi also came close to making this list. Haku would have been a fantastic choice thanks to his Ice Release and incredible speed. Hizashi Hyuga could have given Sasori a Human Puppet with the Byakugan and the Gentle Fist.
All in all, Sasori believed that true art should last forever, and his Human Puppets were his way of making that happen. Looking back at Naruto, there are plenty of legendary shinobi whose abilities deserved another chance to shine.
