Agnez Mo has spent four episodes of Reacher Season 4 quietly stealing the show, and the internet has noticed. Movie insider Daniel Richtman was impressed enough by her turn as Lila Hoth to post on X that she should be cast in Naruto. And, frankly, in everything else going on. He wrote, “Cast her in Naruto, cast her in everything. Need more of her on screen.”
Mo reposted the praise with a string of emojis, including a laughing face and two folded hands. She did not say yes to anything. But fans have taken the reaction as a sign she would be open to the idea, and honestly, why wouldn’t she be?

The timing is also perfect. Destin Daniel Cretton‘s live-action Naruto is casting right now. So which role? Not Sakura, since the search is for actors in their late teens. Mo is 40, which puts her in far more interesting territory. Konan, the origami-wielding Akatsuki member, feels like the obvious fit after watching Lila handle a blade.
Tsunade is the bigger swing. She is a legendary ninja, gambler, and eventual Hokage who spends most of her screen time looking half her real age. Mei Terumī, the Fifth Mizukage, would work too. Any of them would suit her.
Agnez Mo’s Reacher Character Is Winning Over Viewers

Agnez Mo’s Lila Hoth arrives in Philadelphia with a sympathetic story and almost nothing true in it. She tells Alan Ritchson‘s Reacher she has leukaemia and is hunting for her biological father, Congressman John Sampson, hoping he will be a bone marrow match.
Her mother Amisha, played by fellow Indonesian singer Anggun, travels with her. When Reacher catches the lie, Lila calmly produces a second version that she is an investigative journalist digging into Sampson’s military past in Indonesia. Then she sleeps with him.
Episode 4 of Reacher Season 4 blows it all open with a shocking twist. Cornered in their hotel by armed men demanding a missing flash drive, Lila and Amisha do not panic. They pull out karambits and cut their way through the entire group. It is the same blade a medical examiner has just linked to two earlier murders.
Reacher arrives in a room full of bodies and no Hoths, and gets arrested for it. The twist lands harder than usual because Lila is the first Reacher villain to work on him emotionally rather than send hired muscle. Ritchson has told TVInsider that the reveal caught him off guard when he read the script.
Mo, meanwhile, is a genuine star in Indonesia. She is a former child performer who broke through in the 2001 drama Pernikahan Dini and holds multiple Panasonic Gobel Awards for acting. Reacher is her first major English-language role after roughly 15 years away from the screen. She reportedly auditioned anonymously.
Is Casting Underway for Destin Daniel Cretton’s Naruto?

On July 9, Destin Daniel Cretton announced that he and Lionsgate had launched a worldwide casting search for Team 7, including Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. Creator Masashi Kishimoto also put out a statement describing the whole thing as one miracle after another (via the official Naruto website).
Casting briefs later indicated the film is looking at the Shippuden timeline, seeking Asian or mixed-race Asian actors aged 16 to 20 to play 16. Then came the first real name.
On August 20, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Charles Melton, the Riverdale star, is in final negotiations to play Kakashi Hatake, Team 7’s masked mentor. Lionsgate has not commented, which is standard while talks are still open.
As for development, this has been a long road. Lionsgate secured the rights back in 2015. Michael Gracey was attached to direct before exiting, and Cretton signed on in February 2024 to write and direct with Kishimoto’s blessing.
