[/spoiler]
Matt Reeves’ The Penguin has won audiences and critics alike with its incredible performances from Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti. The spinoff of 2022’s The Batman expanded the crime-ridden and now-flooded Gotham City, where a new criminal was rising from the ashes.
The show’s first season has been nothing short of gripping, and fans seem to be extremely excited for the finale. One fan even mentioned that they had gotten a glimpse of the finale and that fans were in for a treat, especially in the last fifteen minutes. Fans hope for a Batman cameo with the show set to connect to The Batman – Part II.
Fan Claims Final Fifteen Minutes Of The Penguin’s Season Finale To Be Epic
The penultimate episode of The Penguin’s first season has left many threads that will no doubt be tied in the finale. Cristin Milioti’s Sofia seems to be Oz Cobb’s biggest threat and she now has his mother and protege Vic in her possession. Colin Farrell’s Cobb has to not only save his operation but also the only two people who are rooting for him.
The stakes are high in Gotham City at the moment and the season finale is reportedly as epic as the makers promised. Fans have been waiting for some clue regarding where the finale will head, with theories such as Vic dying or Francis Cobb getting to know about Oz’s dark past.
One fan claimed that the final fifteen minutes were truly epic and that there were many shocking moments.
The Penguin has been confirmed to connect to The Batman – Part II, with Farrell’s Oz Cobb set to play a pivotal role in Batman’s arc, even if he is not the main antagonist.
Matt Reeves Confirmed Robert Pattinson Will Be Sitting Out The Penguin
Matt Reeves’ The Batman introduced the world to Robert Pattinson’s more gritty and emo Batman. The caped crusader is still in his early days of fighting crime in Gotham City during the events of the film and is seen protecting the citizens after the Riddler bombs the sea wall. The event also leaves a gap for Oz Cobb to fill in the criminal underbelly.
While Batman is a looming presence in Gotham City, Reeves confirmed that he was not slated to appear in The Penguin as he wanted to keep the show confined to the character’s perspective. He said to Esquire,
He’s more of a specter in the city. I really wanted what we did in the first movie, and what we’re doing in the second movie, to be focused on Batman’s arc…So one of the things that was really exciting about the opportunity to do a show was to let it really focus on that rogues’ gallery character and change points of view.
However, fans are still hoping for a surprise cameo from the caped crusader in the season finale.
The Penguin is available to stream on Max.
