Gal Gadot Is Still Struggling to Beat Her Career Best With Wonder Woman as Disappointing Box Office Update on Her $250 Million Snow White Comes Out

After Rachel Zegler’s previous comments on her upcoming film, Snow White and the princess’ legacy angered fans, it looks like the movie is in for some disappointment at the box office. Starring Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, the retelling of the classic fairytale has seen its fair share of lows even before its release. Whether it was the reimagining of the Seven Dwarfs, Rachel Zegler’s casting, or her apparent disdain towards the original story, fans have wanted nothing to do with the film.
Perhaps all of this has combined into one giant mess for the movie which will soon be released in theatres worldwide. As per predictions, Snow White‘s opening weekend box office numbers do not look good at all.
Box office forecast for Gal Gadot’s Snow White (2025)
Directed by Marc Webb, Snow White will be released in theatres in the third half of the coming month of March. It is a reboot of the 1937 animated classic but as Rachel Zegler has stated time and time again before, it is not going to be anything like the OG flick.
Since reboots of classic stories need the nostalgia factor to help them achieve success among the masses, the lead actress’ criticism of the fan-favorite princess might drive the potential audience away from theatres. Deadline‘s box office prediction proves exactly that.
According to the prediction, the three-day-long opening weekend of Gal Gadot‘s film will bring in anywhere between $63-70 million at the box office. On the other hand, some other sources believe the number will be a solid $65 million.
Snow White‘s going to have to do much better than this if it wants to at least break even. As per Variety, the film’s budget sits at a whopping $240 million whereas Forbes said the number reached $269.4 million by the end of 2023.
Well, if this turns out to be true, it only adds to Gadot’s growing filmography which is filled with titles that have been unable to beat the 2017 superhero flick, Wonder Woman, in terms of box office.
Earning a whopping $103.3 million during its opening weekend in the United States (via THR) and $125 million in other countries (via Deadline), Wonder Woman ended its box office run with $817 million (via The Numbers).
Fans are not looking forward to Snow White
When Deadline’s forecast made its way to social media, fans were not surprised, to say the least. Given Zegler’s comments, the film’s trailer, and the overall lack of the original’s essence, Snow White is probably one of the most disliked reboots of all time. Let’s not even talk about the hairstyle!
Needless to say, hearing about the predicted opening weekend numbers, fans had a lot to say about it all. From calling it an inevitable flop to doubting whether the film will even break even, here’s what some fans have had to say about the upcoming film.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall, is this movie going to be the most failured movie remake from Disney of them all???
— Tomd (@tommydangermou3) February 7, 2025
Well, it looks like Snow White has become the latest punching bag for film fanatics. With the backlash surrounding it, it is shaping up to be one of Disney’s most controversial remakes yet.
Whether it defies expectations or becomes an example of what not to do remains to be seen. But as things stand, Snow White might be heading towards a box office fate that is as grim as the Evil Queen’s intentions. Stay tuned.
Snow White will be released in theatres on March 21.
