Stephanie Vaquer’s class apart in-ring skills helped her become part of the WWE’s main roster in less than a year after her NXT debut in October 2024. However, Vaquer made her last appearance on WWE Evolution in July and has been surprisingly out of action since then.
Several fans expected Vaquer to return at the recently concluded Clash In Paris after her win at Evolution, but their hopes turned to disappointment after learning that she wouldn’t be featured in the event.
Nevertheless, many of them might be relieved after learning that there’s nothing untoward about Vaquer’s WWE absence. Rather, it is a consequence of an unavoidable issue, which isn’t even related to her.
Stephanie Vaquer’s Opponent’s Hiatus Led to Her Absence From WWE

Vaquer went on a dream run after her main roster debut on the April 21 episode of Raw. Despite losing her Money In the Bank ladder match, ‘La Primera’ bounced back strongly to win the Women’s Battle Royal match at Evolution and earn herself a shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship.

Triple H and Co. picked Clash In Paris to feature Vaquera’s clash with the reigning champ, Naomi. However, Naomi went on hiatus about a week before Clash In Paris because of pregnancy, which led to the cancellation of her world title match with Vaquera.
Raw General Manager, Adam Pearce, confirmed the abandonment of the Naomi vs. Vaquera clash in a backstage segment on the August 25 episode of the show after the reigning champ vacated her title.
After learning about the entire saga, it seems like Triple H and Co. wanted to keep her Vaquera free from injuries for her title match at Clash In Paris. This is why they chose to keep her away from the ring after her victory at Evolution.
However, with the fallout of the Naomi vs. Vaquera clash, the WWE will now have to elect a worthy rival for Vaquera to build her world title clash.
Who Can Be Stephanie Vaquer’s Next Opponent?
Looking at the eyeballs Vaquer has received after moving to the main roster, the WWE certainly wouldn’t want to destroy her hype by pitting her against an unworthy opponent for the WWE Women’s World Championship match.
However, their job becomes even tougher due to the number of worthy names in the WWE roster. ‘La Primera’ picked up losses in two of her recent fights, both fatal four-way matches at Money In The Bank and on the June 16, 2025 episode of Raw.
While Naomi, who won the Money In The Bank match, is on a hiatus, Asuka, who defeated Vaquer on the June 16, 2025, episode of Raw, currently seems to be the best choice for her opponent for the WWE Women’s World Championship match. With Vaquer’s loss as the backdrop of their feud, a storyline involving her revenge on Asuka can have a massive impact on the fanbase.
