Top 10 Most Popular Crunchyroll Anime, Ranked by User Ratings

Determining the popularity of any anime can be very tricky, especially with so many good anime series getting released every year. Crunchyroll remains the top anime platforms where most of the anime audience watch their favourite series.

Although Crunchyroll does not publicly release the view count for the titles available on its site, they do have a feature where users can rate the anime. Recently, Solo Leveling became the first anime to cross the 1 million user ratings on Crunchyroll, but what else is there among the popularly rated? Let’s find out.

10. The Apothecary Diaries – 373.2K Ratings

When you think about any popular anime title, what comes to your mind first? Probably a shonen show having a lot of action like One Piece, Naruto, and so on. The Apothecary Diaries change that perception completely. It does not have any major action moments; instead, it focuses mostly on mystery, suspense, political drama, and medicine.

And obviously, who can forget about Maomao? She is probably one of the most unique female protagonists. Her chemistry with Jinshi in the story became another huge attraction for the fans, especially during season 2. All these things contributed to its very organic growth. It felt like every few weeks, another viewer was discovering the show and asking why nobody had recommended it sooner.

9. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – 373.5K Ratings

If there is any anime show that got the most number of positive reviews in the last few years, it has to be Frieren. Whereas other adventure and fantasy-related anime shows follow a very usual flow, like the hero defeating the villain at the end of the story, Frieren stands out for doing the opposite.

Its story starts by exploring what happens after the world has already been saved. Here we meet Frieren, an immortal elf who slowly learns to deal with losses and the importance of connecting with others. Even though some viewers may find the pacing a little bit slow, it never gets boring or overdramatic.

8. Spy x Family – 421K Ratings

Spy x Family is, without any doubt, one of the most entertaining series we have got in recent years. Watching a spy, an assassin, and a telepath try to somehow work as a family sounds ridiculous, but that also makes it hilarious to watch.

And who can forget about Anya? Even people who did not actively watch the series seem to recognize her very easily. Honestly, very few characters have become internet favorites as quickly as she did. Apart from that, Crunchyroll offers Spy x Family in several regional languages, and the dub quality is surprisingly good.

This also might have boosted its user rating on the platform, because a good dub can certainly help the reach of any series, especially because many casual viewers often ignore even popular titles due to the language barrier.

7. My Hero Academia – 434K Ratings

My Hero Academia started its journey at a time when the entertainment world was already dominated by Marvel and DC. However, despite all the competition, it quickly established itself among the fandom by offering a unique narrative and quickly found an audience.

The ending of the final season last year broke the internet and became one of the highest-rated anime episodes on IMDb. Even today, clips from that episode regularly resurface whenever viewers discuss the most memorable scenes in shonen anime.

Furthermore, the final season of My Hero Academia took home the top prize of Anime of the Year at the 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards held in Tokyo, Japan, while also securing other wins in categories such as “Best Supporting Character,” “Best Anime Voice Artist Performance (French),” and “Best Anime Ending Sequence” (via Crunchyroll).

6. Chainsaw Man – 483K Ratings

Chainsaw Man came up with a very unique premise. Whereas in other shonen series, we see the main protagonist go for more powers or achievements, Denji’s goals were refreshingly simple – he just wanted to have a peaceful life. However, his life gets disrupted by others who want to get hold of his power.

Apart from that, the Reze arc movie also helped to boost its popularity, which features stunning direction by MAPPA. Very recently, Death Stranding star Norman Reedus revealed that even famous creator Hideo Kojima is very fond of Chainsaw Man, quoting that it is one of his favourites.

5. Attack on Titan – 532K Ratings

We are getting into the top 5 now. Attack on Titan is, without any doubt is one of the most creative anime series. Although at first it started as a direct confrontation between Humans and Titans, with every season it became much more complex.

Every major revelation, especially in the final season, regarding Eren generated lots of conversation, which continues even to this day.

4. Demon Slayer – 747K Ratings

Demon Slayer manga was already well-known before the anime adaptation, but after Rengoku’s death in Mugen Train and Akaza’s involvement in the Infinity Castle movie made it even more popular. Ufotable enhanced it with their animation quality, especially the action scenes of Giyu and Akaza, and Shinobu and Douma grabbed attention.

Tanjiro’s battle against Akaza also became one of the memorable moments that helped it to further increase its acceptance even among casual anime audiences.

3. Jujutsu Kaisen – 787K Ratings

Jujutsu Kaisen was successful from the beginning, but the Shibuya arc increased its popularity even more. When the Shibuya Incident arc was airing, social media was filled with discussions about Gojo’s sealing, Sukuna’s influence, and Nanami’s fate.

Along with that, MAPPA’s direction also helped it with the finale episode of Season 3, becoming one of the highest-rated anime episodes of 2026 on IMDb.

2. One Piece – 820K Ratings

Whereas many anime titles hardly stay relevant for two or three years. One Piece, on the other hand, has managed to stay near the top in several popularity charts even after more than 25 years.

We have recently listed some of the memorable One Piece moments. Looking back, Gear 5’s reveal may have been the pivotal moment that pushed One Piece to another level of popularity. The conversation around Episode 1071 alone lasted for weeks, and the ongoing Elbaf storyline continues to generate similar excitement.

1. Solo Leveling – 1M Ratings

Achieving one million ratings alone is impressive, and Solo Leveling became the first anime series so far to achieve that. What is more impressive is the speed at which Solo Leveling was able to achieve these ratings.

The popularity was definitely helped by the anticipation from manhwa fans, but it goes without saying that the anime did not disappoint its fan base either. The excitement felt by the viewers watching the story of Sung Jinwoo go from the weak hunter to an almost god-like status is one of the most thrilling anime stories ever.

Here is a quick overview of the ranking of the most popular Crunchyroll anime so far.
