However, the only problem was that not much was known about them until now.

The situation with Jewelry Bonney in One Piece
One of the members of the Worst Generation, Jewelry Bonney was a pirate from the South Blue and led the Bonney Pirates into the new world of One Piece. She was in search of her adopted father, Bartholomew Kuma, who was transformed into a mindless cyborg by the World Government. However, the Egghead Island arc finally brought them together and also connected them with the Straw Hat Pirates.
Bonney met Luffy and his crew in the first phase of the Egghead Island arc itself. She was quite similar to Luffy in terms of personality, and thus One Piece fans were digging their pairing. But things went sideways when Eiichiro Oda revealed the real age of Bonney in One Piece. According to the narrative, Bonney was around 12 years old, and this created a lot of controversy.
The reason for the controversy was the fact that before revealing Bonney’s age, the One Piece storyline showed her in multiple uncomfortable positions, especially concerning her attire. Fans created a lot of ruckus because of this and even targeted Oda for s*xualizing Bonney even though she was just a child.

She wears a full blazer with a cap and boots. Her hands are covered with the blazers’ sleeves, which she can turn into bandages just like her face, and her eyes are a little different than others.
She has a mysterious aura, but her arrogant nature gives fans a hint about what her personality would be like. However, despite getting a detailed description of her character, there are still doubts because of what happened with Bonney. Her age has become a major point of concern, especially because of her outfit.
Thus, fans will have to wait for the next One Piece chapter to find out more about her character and whether or not she carries some similarity to Bonney or not. Hopefully, Oda won’t repeat the same mistake with Gunko that he made with Bonney’s introduction in One Piece.
