What Happened to Kevin Owens: Randy Orton’s Final Words to Him Sound Alarming

The rivalry between Kevin Owens and Randy has been going on for some time now. The two WWE superstars have been at odds with each other almost throughout the extent of their careers. However, the recent saga of events between Orton and Owens added a new chapter in the in-ring hatred between them.

The latest feud between them started when Orton sided with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel and made the rivalry with Kevin Owens evident. KO sought vengeance from the Apex Predator and gave him a near career-ending injury. However, upon his return, Orton delivered a threatening final message to Owens.

Randy Orton gives a stern warning to Kevin Owens ahead of the WrestleMania 41 clash

During the November 8, 2024 edition of Smackdown, Kevin Owens arrived into the ring on Randy Orton‘s call. Shrouded by the crew all around, Owens managed to enter the squared ring and deliver the piledriver to Orton, a move banned by the WWE due to safety concerns.

The attack resulted in an injury to Randy Orton, which sidelined him from ring action for months. Upon his return, Orton delivered a stern message to Owens during the build-up to their face-off at WrestleMania 41. The Viper, during a monologue on the March 28 edition of SmackDown, said:

“Now the match is set. Owens, Orton, the Piledriver versus Punt kick. But he is just going to nip, nip, nip away at me until I kick him so hard come the day on WrestleMania, grandest stage of them all. I am going to send his head clear over the freaking roof.”

While Orton delivered a strong message to Owens, the former WWE champion did not learn from the antics he pulled against Orton and interrupted the match against Drew McIntyre to distract Randy Orton. The Apex Predatore went on the recieving end of a brutal Claymore kick from McIntyre to win the match against Orton.

While Orton’s defeat added a new chapter in the much heated rivalry between him and Kevin Owens, a recent development has made the face-off between the two superstars at WrestleMania 41 and beyond uncertain.

Kevin Owens pulls out of WrestleMania 41 due to neck injury

Kevin Owens was at the latest edition of Smackdown where he announced that he will be undergoing a neck surgery and therefore he will not be a part of WrestleMania 41 one-on-one match against Randy Orton.

While Owens announced the decision, he further informed the WWE universe that he never got to know the seriousness of the injury until recently when was deduced that he will have to undergo a neck injury. The timeline of his return to the WWE still remains uncertain.

However, the rivalry between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton remains far from over. After Kevin Owens announced his neck surgery and was about to take an exit from the ring. Randy Orton arrived on the scene and entered past Owens to later on deliver an RKO to the Smackdown general manager.

More than the rivalry it was the frustration of not competing at the grandest stage of the year, WrestleMania 41. While the match between him and Kevin Owens has been abandoned the rivalry is far from over. Will these two WWE superstars ever face each other again in the ring? Only time has the answer to this question.
