Tougen Anki Episode 12 started off on a high note, but it was only after the opening sequence that we got the bigger picture. It wasn’t as big as expected; rather, it turned out to be hilarious. The entire episode was basically the aftermath of some shenanigans that Shiki and the others got into after Mudano had put them all under one roof as part of an Evacuation Drill.
At the very beginning, we saw almost every Oni candidate in the academy injured, lying around like dead meat on the ground. Shiki was even bleeding. But right after the opening sequence, we got an over-the-top bath scene. However, there wasn’t much to note, aside from the funny moment of Kuina trying to rush into the men’s bath. But then came the real stuff.
Tougen Anki Episode 12 Revealed Shiki’s One Weakness That Nobody Expected
Mudano put everyone under the same roof to observe their combined effort as a team. He gathered both the girls and boys together and just gave them some food to survive on. But this sparked some heated moments between Shiki and, mainly, Kougasaki, as the two just never stop clashing.
However, the most interesting detail the episode revealed was Shiki’s apparent weakness: listening to supernatural stories. Is it underwhelming? Maybe. But it’s not like Shiki was the only one exposed. Every other Oni candidate also had their strengths and weaknesses revealed by the anime’s narrator.

While it had never been mentioned before that Shiki dislikes sweets, in Tougen Anki Episode 12, he showed an extreme fascination for pudding. Little did we know, even the fiery Kougasaki was a pudding lover. So, a literal battle over pudding broke out between them until Mudano stepped in and ruined the fun.
Meanwhile, Mudano was also seen getting a call from that flirty doctor at the Kyoto Oni Division, Kyoya. They didn’t discuss anything too serious, but in general, both expressed concerns about the current Oni candidates and how far they’ve come. Kyoya also told Mudano to have more faith in them, since they had already been through real hell.
Shiki and the Others Will Now Be Heading to Tokyo as a Part of Their Next Field Trip
In the latter half of the Tougen Anki episode 12, Shiki, Ikari, Juji, and Kiriyama started their own ghost story session during the evacuation drill. The four teamed up and started sharing their favorite ones. But Shiki, being the scaredy-cat he is, got really spooked, especially after Kougasaki commented that telling ghost stories attracts real ghosts.
Soon after, a white, aura-like figure wearing a mask appeared, which Shiki immediately assumed was a ghost. In panic, he fired his bazooka using the Blood Eclipse Technique, injuring almost everyone in the room (even if only slightly). This ended up being the cause of the chaos teased earlier.
The credits roll right after that, but the post-credits scene was just as important. Mudano gathered everyone and announced that they would be heading to Tokyo next for their field trip. That means we can expect more Momotaro to show up there, the Tokyo Oni Branch to finally be revealed, and new characters to make their appearance in Tougen Anki.
