Remember when the audience collectively lost their minds when Wesley Snipes‘ Blade showed up in Deadpool & Wolverine? Turns out Avengers: Doomsday is going to be 50 times crazier, at least according to Channing Tatum.
After making his Gambit debut last year, Tatum is reprising the role in the upcoming Avengers film, and he has a lot to say about it. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, the Magic Mike actor teased that Doomsday is going to be so wild, it might make “brains ooze out of your ears“.
Adding to it, Tatum compared the film to Blade’s entry in Deadpool & Wolverine, stating that it’s going to be fifty times better than that. In his words,
I don’t know how to describe it to you. It’s going to make your brains ooze out of your ears. Like in the way I knew when Blade walks on screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, people are going to physically lose their actual minds. It’s that, but I don’t know, maybe times 50. It’s gonna be one of them things. As a comic fan, you’re just not ready.
Clearly, Tatum doesn’t believe in keeping things subtle and has somehow taken our excitement to all new levels. Although with reports claiming Chris Evans’ return and a Ghost Rider cameo, we can see what the actor means.
Channing Tatum Talks About Gambit’s Role in Avengers: Doomsday
One of the things fans loved the most about Channing Tatum’s Remy LeBeau was his thick Cajun accent that just made things 10x funnier for no real reason. Unfortunately, the actor admitted that he might be toning it down a notch in Avengers: Doomsday.
In a Variety interview, he stated that executives “really had to wrap their mind around the accent and how people are going to understand him.” He added, “I’m not gonna go full Cajun.“
Tatum continued that while the Russo Brothers, who are directing Doomsday, want to keep things funny to an extent, they also don’t want to repeat Deadpool & Wolverine. He said,
[The Russo Brothers] want things to be funny, but they don’t want to go full ‘Deadpool’. They want to keep the drama and keep it tight. When Gambit gets serious — when he drops the Mardi Gras mask — things do matter.
He also hinted at an important fight scene with Robert Downey Jr‘s Doctor Doom. Tatum revealed that they had “tons more shooting“, including a “big fight” with Doom, if it wasn’t for his Doomsday injury. Instead, the injury caused him to sit on the sidelines for a bit, sitting in for close-ups, and letting his stunt double do the rest.
Russo Brothers’ Cryptic Photo from the Set of Avengers: Doomsday
Marvel Studios loves to tease us with its Easter eggs, and the Russo Brothers did the same recently as they took to social media to post a cryptic photo from the set of Doomsday. The black and white photo doesn’t give much away at first glance, but the caption “Look hard…” proves that there’s more to it than what meets the eye.
The Russo Brothers have pulled this move before, too, and if history is any indication, there may be a significant detail about Doomsday hidden in the mystery photo.
Fans are coming up with their own theories, with some believing that the director-duo is simply trying to spell out D-O-O-M-S-D-A-Y with the objects in the photo. However, others are convinced that this can’t be it.
Upon closer inspection, it seems as if the photo is trying to spell A, V, and X, indicating that the film will focus on a clash between the Avengers and the X-Men. Since Gambit isn’t the only X-Men member in Doomsday, this theory seems plausible.

Reports about the supposed clash have already made their way to the Internet, with insider Daniel Richtman claiming that Marvel Studios would be filming an “epic fight” scene between the Avengers and the X-Men. The Russos could simply be trying to confirm this rumor with their cryptic post, but you never know.
