Every Box Office Record Spider-Man: Brand New Day Has Broken So Far, Ranked

Spider-Man: Brand New Day took only three weeks to rewrite some of the major box office records that had sat untouched for years. Destin Daniel Cretton’s film opened on July 31, 2026, and has since bulldozed marks held by Avengers: Endgame, Avatar, and Tom Holland’s own No Way Home.

Some of these records are outright firsts. Others are near-misses where only one film in history has ever done better. Ranked from impressive to genuinely historic, here is everything the web-slinger has knocked down so far.

8. Brand New Day Had the Second-Best Third Weekend Domestic Collection

Three weekends in, nothing has knocked it off. Spider-Man: Brand New Day held the top spot in North America with roughly $70 million, even with two big new releases in the mix (via Variety). Only Endgame had a better third weekend in history.

Warner Bros.’ dinosaur thriller The End of Oak Street opened in third with a soft $21 million, while Paramount’s PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie debuted at fourth with $20 million. The Odyssey held second in its fifth weekend in theaters.

7. Brand New Day Had the Third-Best Second Weekend Domestic Collection

Tom Holland‘s movie collected an impressive $145 million domestically and $236 million in the overseas market during its second weekend. It is one of only eight second weekends in history to top $100 million. This number trails behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ $149 million and Avengers: Endgame‘s $147 million.

6. It Is the Fourth Highest-Grossing Movie at the Domestic Box Office

With $785.8 million at the domestic box office, it is now the fourth highest-grossing movie stateside. It now has No Way Home, Avengers: Endgame, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to beat at the domestic box office. The Force Awakens came closest to a domestic billion, but fell short by $60 million. It would take an extraordinary run for Brand New Day to be the first.

5. It Is Currently the Eighth Highest-Grossing Movie

Only seven films had ever gotten into the elite $2 billion club until now. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now the eighth, and the first solo superhero movie on the list. Destin Daniel Cretton’s film is also now the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever made and the biggest comic book film of the decade. Here are the movies, ranked by lifetime worldwide gross.

RankMovieTotal Box Office
1Avatar$2.92 billion
2Avengers: Endgame$2.80 billion
3Avatar: The Way of Water$2.33 billion
4Titanic$2.26 billion
5Ne Zha 2$2.26 billion
6Star Wars: The Force Awakens$2.07 billion
7Avengers: Infinity War$2.05 billion
8Spider-Man: Brand New Day$2.02 billion

4. It Is the Second Fastest Movie to Hit $1 Billion

Spider-Man: Brand New Day raced past $1 billion worldwide in just six days, making it the second-fastest film in history to reach the milestone. Only Avengers: Endgame got there quicker, and only by a single day. That puts Holland’s fourth solo outing above Avengers: Infinity War, Ne Zha 2, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the chart of the quickest to a billion.

It also meant Tom Holland now owns two of the six fastest billion-dollar movies ever made, including Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie also took 12 days to hit $1 billion from the overseas market alone, making it the second-fastest to do so.

3. Brand New Day Has the Highest Opening Weekend in North America

Endgame held the record for the best domestic opening weekend, at roughly $357 million, but Brand New Day bulldozed through that domestic record, earning $360 million in its opening weekend (via Box Office Mojo). While the same isn’t true for its worldwide opening, the movie had the second-largest global opening in cinema history behind Endgame with $572 million from the overseas markets.

2. It Has the Biggest Single Opening Day at the Domestic Box Office

Brand New Day opened on July 31, 2026, with $168 million on its first day, the biggest single day any movie has ever posted in North America. This total includes the Thursday previews, which also set the biggest number for any movie. It beat out the records of Avengers: Endgame ($157.4M) and Spider-Man: No Way Home ($121.96M).

1. Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is the Second Fastest Movie to Hit $2 Billion

All that Spider-Man: Brand New Day needed was just nineteen days to enter the elite $2 billion club, a pace beaten only by Avengers: Endgame in eleven days. What makes it a standout record is also the context of this achievement. Tom Holland’s solo superhero movie is one of the rarest entries that did it with no multiverse gimmicks or multiple action heroes.
